This Privacy Policy describes how JustScribe ("the App") handles your data. JustScribe is a local-first transcription application that runs entirely on your Mac. We've built JustScribe with privacy as a core principle—your voice data never leaves your device.

How JustScribe Works

JustScribe uses on-device machine learning models (Parakeet and Whisper) to transcribe audio. All processing happens locally on your Mac using Apple Silicon's Neural Engine. This means:

Local Storage

Audio Permissions

JustScribe requires microphone and/or system audio access to function. This permission is:

JustScribe requires accessibility permissions to type transcribed text directly into other applications. This permission is:

• Used solely for inserting transcribed text where your cursor is located

Data Retention

Since we don't collect any data, there is no data retention. Your transcriptions exist only on your device and are under your complete control.

Children's Privacy

JustScribe does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since the app collects no personal information from any user, it is safe for users of all ages.
